Sample Itinerary for Claire Jones flying safari

Itinerary 1 (8 nights Rift Valley & Laikipia)

Day 1-2 Naivasha Homestead (2 nights)

You will be met on arrival in Nairobi by Claire and flown or driven, directly to Naivasha and the family homestead.

Spend the morning relaxing in the lush gardens and unwind by the pool.
After lunch, a boat trip on Lake Naivasha to see the Hippo and bird life or a visit to Hells Gate National Park.

An evening of fine dining and preparation for your safari ahead.

Days 3 to 5 Loisaba Lodge (3 nights)

After breakfast Claire will fly you to Loisaba positioned on the Laikipia plateau in the shadow of Mt Kenya.

This is an exceptional lodge on a working cattle ranch and offers excellent game-viewing, bush walks and optional nights at the star beds. Loisaba also now offer the luxury of a flight in a six man hot air balloon. See the elephant and wild dog from above.

Days 6 to 8 Masai Mara (3 nights)

You will be flown to a private tented camp in the Masai Mara. Here you will experience the magic of the night sounds in the safety of your tent, enjoy the pleasure of a bush shower and view the fantastic myriad wild life. Bush breakfasts and sundowners on the plains with elephant moving in the distance.

Day 9 Departure for Nairobi and beyond.

You will be flown to Nairobi where you will refresh, have lunch and spend some time shopping before being driven to the airport to meet your flight home.

This itinerary can be amended to reflect your requirements for longer stays and varied alternative destinations. The Safari, at your discretion can be fully guided by Claire or alone with suitable logistics arranged.

Itinerary 2 (for those seeking more adventure, for all ages why not combine your Safari with horse riding)
10 nights including riding safari

Day 1 to 5 (4 nights)

Arrive Nairobi and fly direct (charter or schedule) to the Masai Mara. Here you will be met and then enjoy a game drive back to your own private camp.

For the next 4 days you will explore the Mara on horse back, guided by the country's leading professionals in horse back safaris. You will enjoy the excitement of crossing the Mara River, and riding amongst the giraffe and elephant, and feeling at one with the bush.

Returning to camp you will shower and sit by the camp fire regaling the excitements of the day followed by a delicious dinner by which time you will be ready to return to your tent to collapse into a comfortable bed.

Day 6 (2 nights)

Depart by private charter for Sosian Ranch on the Laikipia Plateau. Here you will have the chance to relax in the sumptuous surroundings of a private ranch house set in thousands of acres of beautiful countryside. You will have your own private cottage. Lunches served by the pool. Riding for those that want to do more. Game drives and bush walks and river picnics. Dinner with Lion and Hyena calling in the distance.

Day 8 (2 nights)

Fly to Meru National Park to stay in a private tented camp. Here you will enjoy an environment quite different from the Mara and Laikipia. Game drives taking in the rich flaura and fauna, bush walks and game viewing on the river. Or just relax by the pool.

Day 10 (2 nights)

Depart for Naivasha, Claire and Rods homestead on the lake. Enjoy the comforts of a private home.

After lunch, a boat trip on Lake Naivasha to see the Hippo and bird life or a visit to Hells Gate National Park.

Day 12

Return to Nairobi. Refresh, lunch and shopping before being driven to the airport to meet your flight home.
